The First Choice Shark Cage Diving Operator For:

Set off from Mossel Bay’s harbor for a 10‑minute boat ride to Seal Island, home to a bustling colony of 3 000+ Cape fur seals—nature’s own shark magnet. Nestled in the Garden Route, Mossel Bay is accessible year-round and ideal for travelers visiting the Garden Route.
Shark cage diving in Mossel Bay offers one of the most rewarding and accessible marine wildlife experiences in South Africa. Its proximity to Seal Island—just 800 meters from the harbor—means boat trips are quick and smooth, ideal for those prone to seasickness.
The bay’s sheltered position along the Garden Route provides calm seas and mild weather year-round, making for consistently safe and comfortable diving conditions. Seal Island is home to over 3,000 Cape fur seals, attracting a high concentration of young, energetic great white sharks that frequently interact with the cage, often in groups.
What sets Mossel Bay further apart is its exclusivity: only one licensed commercial operator is permitted to run shark cage diving tours here, ensuring a personalized, less commercial experience. No diving certification is needed—cages are surface-based with full diving gear provided, and children from 12 years old can participate.
Beyond the dive, the area offers whale watching, wine tasting, and other Garden Route attractions. Choosing to dive here directly supports local jobs, marine research, and responsible tourism, making it an experience that’s thrilling, educational, and deeply meaningful.
Great white sharks have fascinated us since they were discovered. Perhaps it is their imposing size, their graceful beauty perfectly adapted to their environment, patrolling our oceans since the beginning of time…
Beautiful Mossel Bay has abundant sea life with diverse fish, seals, whales, penguins, other sea birds, dolphins, the occasional orca and, of course, a plentiful supply of Great white sharks.
Being that there is only one company to offer Great white shark cage diving in Mossel Bay, you are afforded the advantage of the seals being the only competition for the Great white shark’s attention.
For thrill-seekers, we also provide unforgettable Gansbaai shark diving adventures, heart-pounding cage shark diving Cape Town experiences, and close encounters with apex predators through our shark cage diving Simonstown excursions.
Their techniques—targeting shark livers—have reshaped the marine ecosystem, with increased seal populations and protected penguins at risk.
